Course Information

The Draughtsman Mechanical course at DBTI is a two-year, NSQF Level-4 programme under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS). Along with strong technical foundations in drafting and CAD, the programme integrates Employability Skills, 21st-Century Skills, and the Don Bosco Plus Skill Portfolio, preparing trainees for a Better Skill, Better Job, Better Life.

  • 10th Pass with Science & Mathematics
  • Or vocational subject in the same sector
  • Minimum Age: 14 years
  • Intake Capacity: 20 trainees per batch

Job Role

A Draughtsman Mechanical prepares technical drawings and designs for machines, components, tools, and industrial layouts using manual drafting and CAD. At DBTI, trainees are also equipped with soft skills, digital tools, and industry exposure to take up multiple roles such as CAD Designer, Mechanical Draughtsman, Design Assistant, Documentation Assistant, or Entrepreneur in design services.

Primary Certification

National Trade Certificate (NTC)

Trainees are registered under the Draughtsman (Mech) trade and appear for the All-India Trade Test (AITT) conducted by NCVET.
