• Machinist Turner 2 years NCVT Course (Mech)

    The two years ITI Turner course aims at developing the skills of Turner Mechanical, to design and to draft mechanical components. The course is designed with Theoretical and Practical Sessions. The theory inputs consist of: workshop theory, workshop calculation and science, social science and communicative English. The candidates have access to the machine shop to learn and study operation on different machines and components developed and developed for our clints. They too have the knowledge in turning, milling, shaping, drilling, slotting, and grinding operations. It will enable the candidates to associate leaning easily and to enter the job market more competently.

    Eligibility -Class X th or Equivalent with Maths & Science with minimum of 45% in Mathematics for General Students & 35% in Mathematics for Christian minority ST/OBC students and have sufficient knowledge of English

    Course Content
    Course content: It is two year full time course. Entire syllabus is according to the syllabus prescribed and recommended by the ITI(NCVT) authorities. It is split up into two parts 1st year syllabus and 2nd ear syllabus.
    1st year syllabus: It is mainly concerned with the introduction to the turning trade, its scope and need in the industry. Safety precaution, marking and marking tools, hand tools, measurement and measuring tools, cutting operations and cutting tools, lubrication, lubricants and coolants, limit fit and tolerance, taper and taper turning, gauges, screw threads, welding, soldering and brazing etc.
    2nd year syllabus: It covers tool materials, jigs and fixtures slip gauges, sine bar, cutting speeds, feed and depth of cut tool angle, micro meter, depth micro meter, inside micro meters etc. Thread indexing and calculation of change gears. Gear cutting, CNC machines, surface textures, surface symbols, geometrical t tolerances, Engg Drawing; knowledge of engineering drawing is very essential for the turning trade therefore and elaborate knowledge of fundamental principle of engineer and manufacturing drawing is given to the required level. Work shop calculation and science is another important subject taught. Fundamental rules of maths and science are included along with the relevant knowledge of metals, metal extraction and heat treatment processes.
    Admissible to the 1st year syllabus:
    Employability skills: This covers mainly English literacy, IT literacy, communication skills, entrepreneurship skill productivity, occupational safety, health and environment education, labor welfare legislation and quality tools etc.

    Highlights of the Programme
    There is a large and spacious turning shop where all types of lathes are available for the trainees. Each trainee is provided individually and independent lathe to operate it at full time basis. Raw material is available in abundance to cut and complete the numerous exercises on the lathe. Emphasis in on the practical. Training mainly, so that each trainee crops the confidence to accept the difficult assignments after completion of the course. Exposer to the CNC and other sophisticated machines frequent visit to industries and exhibitions is the salient feature of the training program.

    Job Areas
    Turners are mostly employed in manufacturing organizations lathe is the mother of machine, since most of the machine components are manufactured on lathe. So the turners are required by all the machine building industries. They are being absorbed by Railways, power plants, ship building, auto mobiles etc.
